Future Dentist?, Hygienist?, Assistant? Either way... Dentistry.

You know... I always saw myself being in the medical field, but I never thought it would be Dentistry.

Let me just tell you though, I only went to Community College and went through so many phases of my college career saying I wanted to do Nursing, Culinary Arts, HDFS, and now Dentistry.

Because I was like other College students and didn't know what I wanted to do, I took classes that I did not were not needed on my transcript and I even failed semesters.

It wasn't until my "senior year" of college, where I saw the advertisement for Dental Assisting at my college and said: "why not?". I went to the orientation and I was excited enough to where I gave my information and applied right away.

I had my prerequisites that they needed except for one class, so I wasn't accepted during the first round, let alone because of my prior lack of commitment in my previous semesters, I was nervous about my GPA and the way my transcript looked.

But it wasn't until mid June when the program director sent me the email that I was accepted and that orientation starts in August.

From that day till December, I was at my schools Dental Assisting program with 7 classes in one semester. I thought I was going to fail because of how I previously was, but I got through the semester with A's and B's for the first time for my college career and today I am still working on getting my CDA license (certified dental assistant).

Till this day, I am already working as a dental assistant and love every bit of it!

But of course, my ambitions are high for the dental field, and I hope one day I can go to Dental school and become a DMD dentist, but for a more realistic goal? I'm shooting for dental hygienist.
