Becoming a first time mom at 24 years old

It's crazy to me because I feel like I just told you all that I was pregnant like yesterday.

I also didn't get a chance to walk you guys all through my pregnancy. But honestly it is pretty straight forward like every other pregnancy, waited about 9 months, could eat certain foods or drink alcohol all through the summer, and I had mood swings almost every day. Except for the fact that I was and still am a diabetic and my baby grew big at 8lbs 1oz by 36 weeks when he was delivered.

I also developed Gestational Hypertension and borderline Preeclampsia at the end of my pregnancy, which is why I ended up having my baby at 36 weeks. but to be really honest with you all, I probably could of gone my whole full term if it wasn't for those complications. I felt great most days.

But 36.5 weeks, basically 9 whole months and now I have a beautiful and handsome little boy that is my whole world.

So far, being a first time mom has taught me so much already that I totally didn't think I'd ever go through until now. I also learned that I really was stronger than I thought I was and I really let myself go for all the past stuff I thought was rough on me.

Here's some key things I've learned:

  • Sleep is actually a luxury.

  • Coffee really is a mom's best friend.

  • Bring an extra shirt with you for you and your baby.

  • It's okay to eat a ton if you're a breastfeeding mom.

  • A woman's body is quite fascinating

  • You thought you needed to be hydrated during your pregnancy? nope.

  • Your child comes first over anything

Although I lost all my motive to sleep through my days, I wouldn't change my life what so ever after Kasen. I feel like I can fight the whole world for him and want nothing but the best for him.
